Yes, the battery is already in.
2. Do the keys click when pushed or are they mushy/silent
The keys move cleanly and tap as they register. Definitely not a “mushy/silent” action

It has “two-way power”, i.e., it is solar powered with a battery back up, so it works in any light. It is a very nice calculator.

Yes. it has a back button, as well as an OFF button.
